Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Ol Pejeta Conservancy is nestled at the base of Mount Kenya in Nanyuki.The Conservancy stands as a beacon of wildlife conservation and sanctuary for some of Africa’s most treasured species. This dedicated wildlife haven encompasses a reclining landscape, teeming with a rich diversity of flora and fauna.
At the heart of the conservancy’s mission lies its commitment to protecting and preserving the great apes, providing a safe refuge for these endangered creatures. In addition to the great apes, Ol Pejeta is home to a myriad of other wildlife, including reticulated giraffes, plain zebras, cheetahs, and buffalos, all of which can be observed during exhilarating game drives across the lush grasslands.
One of Ol Pejeta’s most renowned conservation efforts centers around the Southern white and Black rhinoceros, whose populations have faced significant threats in recent years. The conservancy’s dedicated initiatives have played a vital role in safeguarding these majestic creatures, ensuring their continued survival in the wild. Notably, Ol Pejeta is also home to the last two remaining Northern White rhinos in the world, symbolizing the conservancy’s unwavering commitment to preserving biodiversity.
