Approximately half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas inhabit Rwanda, with around 178 of them residing in the hills of Volcanoes National Park, one of the oldest parks in Africa.
In addition to the gorillas, the park is also home to golden monkeys, while colobus monkeys swing through the treetops in Nyungwe National Park. If you embark on a game drive or a boat safari in Akagera National Park, you might be lucky enough to spot southern white rhinos, black rhinos, giraffes, zebras, elephants, and hippos.
