Dining at Serenity Mara Legends Camp moves between the camp’s main restaurant and the Mara landscape itself. The full-board kitchen produces fresh, locally sourced meals combining international technique with East African influence — breakfast served as the morning game drive returns, lunch at the camp or on the savannah, dinner in the restaurant as the firepit draws the group together after dark.
Bush breakfasts take the morning meal out onto the open grassland, chef-prepared, served as zebra and antelope graze nearby, and timed to the golden hour that follows sunrise on the Mara plains. Sundowner sessions mark the close of the afternoon drive: a pause on the savannah with cocktails and light bites as the sky moves through amber and the sounds of the evening predators begin to carry. Dietary requirements are accommodated with advance notice.

Best Time to Visit
The Maasai Mara rewards visitors in every month, but the experience shifts meaningfully across the calendar. The dry seasons — January to February and July to October, bring short grass, concentrated wildlife at permanent water sources, and the optimal conditions for game drives and photography. July to October is the Great Migration season, when the wildebeest and zebra herds arrive from the Serengeti and the river crossing events give this period an intensity that no other time of year matches. This is peak season; rates and demand are highest, and early booking is essential.
The green season — November through May, with the most significant rainfall in April and May — transforms the landscape into vivid, lush grassland and brings migratory bird species to the Mara in large numbers. Game viewing remains strong; the predator population does not leave, and lions and cheetah in particular are often easier to observe against shorter-growth vegetation at the start and close of the rains. Rates are typically more competitive during this period, and the reduced visitor numbers give a quieter, more private quality to game drives.
